Overview: The Shores of North River Golf Club is an 18-hole executive course at 1827 Northwest Pine Lake Drive in Stuart. Published scorecards list par 66 and 4,766 yards from the championship tees. Arthur Young's compact Florida layout uses tree-lined corridors, water hazards and tight fairways, with six par 3s and twelve par 4s and no par 5s.
History: The course first opened for play as Pine Lakes Golf Club in 1971 and was designed by Arthur Young. Jack Neargarder and Jack Eckenrode bought the property in 2014, renamed it North River and invested in maintenance, irrigation, equipment and clubhouse improvements. The current operator presents the course as The Shores of North River Golf Club and publishes daily non-member rates.
Did You Know? All 18 holes are par 3s or par 4s, so the course's challenge comes from positioning, distance control and the water rather than from reaching a par 5 in two. The unusual par-66 card also makes it a useful executive-course test for a shorter round.
