Overview: The Ridges at Village Creek is the golf facility at Village Creek State Park, set on the rolling terrain of Crowley's Ridge in eastern Arkansas. The directory's East to North routing is one of three nine-hole loops at the 27-hole Andy Dye facility, with the current profile listing 7,449 yards, par 72 and 18 holes for this combination. Hardwood forest, elevation change and water that comes into play on 12 holes give the course a strong woodland identity. It is a public layout where the land supplies much of the drama.
History: Arkansas State Parks identifies The Ridges as an Andy Dye championship course that opened in May 2012. The project brought a substantial golf facility into Village Creek State Park while preserving the character of Crowley's Ridge, a rare elevated landform in the otherwise flatter Delta region. The three-loop design allows different combinations of nines, and the park setting keeps the course connected to the surrounding forest rather than isolating it from the landscape.
Did You Know? The Ridges is a 27-hole facility, not simply a single 18-hole routing. Arkansas State Parks describes water on 12 holes and the course's position atop Crowley's Ridge, so the combination of elevation and water is central to the identity of the East, North and South loops.
