Overview: The Orchards is a public Robert Trent Jones Jr. course in Washington, Michigan, set across a 525-acre residential and golf community. Classic-looking holes, varied approaches and large-scale bunkering create a par-72 course that asks players to use the ground as well as the air.
History: Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed The Orchards in 1993 as a daily-fee course intended to offer the quality and variety of a private club to public golfers. The course later hosted the USGA National Amateur Public Links Championship in 2002 and the Michigan Open from 2011 through 2013.
Did You Know? The course record is 62, shot by Doc Redman in a 2019 PGA Tour Rocket Mortgage qualifier, according to the club’s official course profile.
