Overview: The Quail at The Okanagan Golf Club is the more multi-level, contour-driven partner to Kelowna’s Bear Course. Les Furber designed the 18-hole layout around elevation changes, a rock bluff and the warm, dry landscape of the Okanagan Valley. Fairways rise and fall through open hills and ponderosa pine, while the course’s natural shaping makes approach angles and green-site visibility central to the round.
History: GolfBC identifies The Quail as built in 1994 and has operated it as one half of the Okanagan Golf Club’s two-course destination. The company has also published plans for a reconfiguration of the 18th hole, retaining the finishing shot over water while updating the hole’s visibility and playing character. Because published par and yardage references differ, the current verified profile deliberately leaves those fields open.
Did You Know? The Quail’s 18th is designed around a finishing shot over water, a detail that gives the course a memorable visual punctuation. The layout also moves around a prominent rock bluff and multi-tiered fairways, so the course’s strongest moments come from changes in elevation and perspective rather than from a single artificial signature hole.
