Overview: The National Golf Club in Antalya, with its Irmak & Tuna combination, offers a distinct and mature test compared to its more modern neighbors in Belek, Turkey. Winding through dense pine forests in a serene forest setting, this classic parkland layout is tight and tree-lined, placing a premium on accuracy, strategic position, and shot-making rather than raw power. The course features thoughtful bunkering and subtle water hazards that combine to provide a highly engaging and traditional test of golf.
History: Opened in 1994 and designed by David Jones and Michel Gayon, the National holds the historic distinction of being the very first golf course established in the Belek region. The club played a pioneering role in sparking the subsequent Turkish golf boom, paving the way for the numerous high-quality championship courses that followed and firmly placing Turkey on the international golf map.
Did You Know? The spectacular clubhouse sits perched on a high ridge overlooking the lakes and the 18th green, providing a beautiful Mediterranean setting for post-round dining. In addition to its championship routing, the club features extensive practice facilities and a highly regarded academy that has nurtured many of Turkey's top young players.
