Overview: The Mines Resort & Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The layout uses wide tree-lined fairways, contoured greens and water around a former mining landscape, with the two nines identified as Crane and Eagle. From the championship tees it measures 6,966 yards and plays to par 71.
History: Construction began in 1993, after which the course was left to mature for a year before opening for play in 1994. The official club history describes the project as a transformation of land that had been hostile to nature into a course with renewed vegetation and wildlife. The Mines has subsequently hosted major events including the 1999 World Cup of Golf, the 2001 Women's World Cup, the Malaysian Open and the CIMB Classic.
Did You Know? The official course information singles out the 11th as The Mines' signature hole. The club's current hole guide lists it as a 155-metre par three, one of several holes where the restored landscape and water influence club selection.
