Overview: The Links at Las Palomas presents the Links at Las Palomas layout in Mexico. The Links at Las Palomas is set among the sandy dunes and lagoons of Puerto Peñasco on the Sea of Cortés. About half the holes use dune terrain directly, while the others connect lagoons and higher ground, so the course feels like a links-inspired route adapted to a Sonoran coastal desert. The design credit at The Links at Las Palomas goes to Forrest Richardson. The published profile for The Links at Las Palomas records a public-welcome resort course with a sourced par 72 and approximately 7,000 yards, wrapped around dunes, lagoons and the Sea of Cortés.
History: Forrest Richardson’s project record identifies an 18-hole, par-72 course completed in 2007. The design grew from the resort’s seaside community plan and was built to preserve the dune landscape rather than replace it with a conventional irrigated parkland course.
Did You Know? The course includes five par 3s and a small bonus hole called Hoyo Bonito. That extra hole is not part of the standard 18, but it helps explain the property’s informal, links-style character and the designer’s interest in giving golfers different ways to use the practice and short-game areas.
