Overview: The Links at Hiawatha Landing is a public Brian Silva and Mark Mungeam course in Apalachin, New York, laid out beside the Susquehanna River. The par-72 routing places a flatter floodplain front nine against a more rolling back nine, with fescue, water, ground contours, and wind shaping the 7,104-yard test.
History: The course opened in 1994 as a collaborative Silva and Mungeam project. Mungeam handled much of the on-site construction work, while Silva later described the eleventh’s punchbowl green as a key design moment. The course has since hosted state and collegiate championships, including the 2002 ECAC and 2007 America East events.
Did You Know? The eleventh green is a punchbowl set on a plateau roughly thirty feet above the fairway. Mungeam found the site during construction, and the feature later influenced Silva’s use of distinct and sometimes blind green settings in other designs.
