Overview: The Ledges of St George is a public desert course in southern Utah, set against red-rock mesas and the larger scenery of the St. George area. Matt Dye’s design uses canyon edges, exposed rock and elevation changes to create a course whose visual scale is larger than the maintained playing corridors.
History: The course opened in the mid-2000s and is associated with Matt Dye. It became part of the St. George golf landscape as the area expanded its public and resort offerings, with the routing built to make the surrounding red-rock terrain part of the golf experience.
Did You Know? The eighth hole drops about 100 feet, while holes fourteen through sixteen turn toward canyon views and longer carries. Those holes show how the course uses the desert topography as a sequence of golf decisions rather than decoration.
