Overview: The King and Prince Golf Club is a resort-linked Joe Lee course on St. Simons Island, Georgia. The coastal layout moves through ancient live oaks, salt marsh and tidal creeks, with the island landscape supplying much of the course’s visual and playing character.
History: Joe Lee created the 18-hole par-72 course in 1989 on part of the former Hampton Plantation. A 2009 restoration by Billy Fuller refreshed the property while retaining Lee’s original routing; the current club has announced a larger reimagination by Beau Welling Design for a later reopening.
Did You Know? The course includes roughly 800 feet of elevated bridges, a distinctive response to the marsh and tidal-creek landscape of St. Simons Island.
