Overview: The Home Course in DuPont, Washington, is a highly acclaimed public links-style masterpiece designed by the respected architect Mike Asmundson. Set on a sweeping bluff overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, the course features wide, wind-swept fairways, dramatic waste bunkers, and massive, beautifully contoured greens. The layout offers daily-fee players a visually spectacular and highly strategic round that tests strategic course management and shot-making versatility.
History: Opened in 2007, the course was built to serve as the cooperative "home course" of the Washington State Golf Association (WSGA) and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA). Asmundson routed the course to highlight the dramatic coastal views and the natural, sandy soil of the region. The course has hosted several highly prestigious national events, including serving as the assisting venue for the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship (with Chambers Bay) and hosting the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
Did You Know? The course is situated on a historic property that was once a Weyerhaeuser explosives manufacturing site in the early 20th century. The property's sandy, well-draining soil allows the course to remain open and fast-playing year-round, representing one of the best and most popular winter golf destinations in the Pacific Northwest.
