Overview: Hamilton Golf & Country Club’s East/West routing combines the East nine with the original West nine at the private Ancaster club. The parkland course moves through rolling ground, valleys and streams, with the West nine’s valley holes and the East’s later land adding two distinct chapters to the round. Harry Colt designed the original West and South eighteen, while Robbie Robinson created the East nine. Current public sources do not publish one stable par or yardage for this exact composite, so those fields remain blank.
History: Hamilton’s original Colt-designed 18 holes date to 1915; the East nine was constructed in the 1970s and opened in 1975. The club now uses West, South and East as three named nines, allowing several 18-hole combinations. Martin Ebert led a later improvement plan across all 27 holes. East/West is therefore a current composite built from an historic Colt foundation and a later Robinson nine.
Did You Know? The West nine includes a third hole that plunges into a valley with a meandering stream, while the East nine was built nearly sixty years later. Playing East/West brings those two design eras together in one round. The result is not simply a shorter or longer version of Hamilton, but a route through the club’s full architectural timeline.
