Overview: The Golf Club at South River in Edgewater, Maryland, is a parkland course designed by Brian Ault. Winding through rolling hills and mature stands of hardwoods, the layout features contoured bentgrass fairways, strategic sand bunkers, and multiple water hazards. The routing incorporates natural streams and elevation changes, offering a varied, scenic, and challenging test of golf that requires smart course management and accurate iron play to score well.
History: Opened in 1996 as a public course, the facility transitioned to a private club in 2007. In 2012, the club modernized its bunkering and green structures to enhance strategic play. The course has become a popular private venue in the Annapolis area, noted for its consistent conditioning and design.
Did You Know? The course has a challenging par-three hole where players must hit a tee shot over a scenic, spring-fed pond to a green guarded by a rustic stone wall. This hole requires absolute distance control, as any shot landing short will find the water or rebound off the stone.
