Overview: The Experience at Koele is a mountain course in the uplands of Lānaʻi, where Cook pines, koa, eucalyptus, ravines and bridges replace the island’s coastal lava setting. Greg Norman and Ted Robinson shaped a par-72 mountain layout at roughly 2,000 feet, with cooler air and wooded slopes defining the round. The operator currently lists the course as closed for enhancements.
History: The course opened around 1990 and later became part of the island’s resort golf program. Design references credit Greg Norman and Ted Robinson, with later redesign work discussed by the Nicklaus Design firm. Because the operator currently reports a closure for enhancements, no playable access or current fee is stated.
Did You Know? Koele’s upland elevation produces a very different Lānaʻi golf landscape from Manele. The course is surrounded by forest species associated with the island’s cooler interior, while ravines and bridges make the terrain part of the routing rather than a distant view.
