Overview: The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is a coastal course in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The layout uses sand ridges, inland lagoons, marsh edges and selected ocean views to create a links-influenced setting rather than a flat resort loop. Long holes and shaped approaches make the course a substantial test from the back tees.
History: The club began in 1947 as a local Myrtle Beach project, and the 18-hole course was developed and constructed in 1948. Robert Trent Jones’s design became the club’s architectural foundation, with the property later hosting major amateur and professional competitions.
Did You Know? The Dunes is the only Myrtle Beach course with ocean views, according to the club. Those views arrive selectively, alongside Singleton Swash and the inland water features, so the coastal setting changes the atmosphere without defining every hole in the same way.
