Overview: The Country Club of Asheville is a private Donald Ross course on the Beaver Lake side of Asheville. Its Blue Ridge setting gives the course a foothill character, while the club's present routing and private access distinguish it from the nearby Grove Park resort course.
History: The club traces its origins to 1894 and moved through several locations and names. In 1928, Donald Ross crafted the 6,638-yard, par-71 course associated with the club's defining modern era. Later club history records the 1976 move to the current Beaver Lake property.
Did You Know? Country Club of Asheville is not the same course as Asheville Municipal or Grove Park. Asheville's golf history contains several Ross-associated properties, so the club name and Beaver Lake address are important identity markers.
