Overview: The Cardinal By Pete Dye is a Greensboro course built around Dye's appetite for angles, water, and uncomfortable recovery shots. The modern par-70 presentation plays through wooded glades, two lakes, and a countryside stream, with limited public starting times alongside member access.
History: The course began in 1974 as Cardinal Golf and Country Club, later became associated with Sedgefield's Dye course identity, and was restored and lengthened after McConnell Golf acquired it in 2006. The current Top100 ranking belongs to this Cardinal Way course, not Cardinal Country Club in Selma.
Did You Know? The Cardinal's twelfth hole is tied to one of Pete Dye's better-known remarks, with the course itself highlighting it as one of the most demanding par threes he designed.
