Overview: The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram is a Greg Norman links-style course on Vietnam’s south-central coast, where the routing runs over and around large seaside dunes with views toward the East Sea. The 18-hole layout is par 71 and measures about 7,007 yards from the longest listed tees. Wind is a constant design element, and the changing direction and strength of the breeze can turn the same landing area into a different decision from one day to the next. Exposed fairways, sand, scrub and rolling ground give the course a distinctly coastal rhythm.
History: The Bluffs officially opened for play in October 2014 as part of the Grand Ho Tram Strip development. Greg Norman’s design team worked with the natural dune system rather than flattening the site, and the course became one of the first major resort golf projects on Vietnam’s southern coast. The operator describes the property as genuine links-style golf, while the current hole-by-hole material records the wind, dunes and vegetation as active parts of the playing strategy.
Did You Know? The first and ninth holes share a fairway, an unusual opening-and-closing relationship that echoes the broad strategic corridors of St Andrews without copying its landform. Other holes climb toward the highest dunes, including the long fifteenth, while the eleventh and fifteenth bring the ocean view directly into the approach. The course’s most distinctive feature is therefore not one isolated hole, but the way the dunes keep changing the golfer’s line of sight.
