Overview: The Atta Terrace Golf Resort occupies a hilly corner of Onna with forested corridors, broad fairways and views towards the East China Sea. The 18-hole, par-72 layout uses the natural relief rather than flattening the site, so the round moves between open driving areas and more exacting approach angles. A subtropical resort atmosphere is part of the experience, but the golf has enough elevation change and green-side shaping to reward thoughtful club selection.
History: The current resort outline records an opening date of June 10, 2002, and credits Kuniba-gumi with the design. The official course guide sets the present outline at 6,675 yards from the back tees. That combination of hotel, tropical vegetation and sea-facing terrain made the course part of Okinawa’s modern resort-golf story from its first season.
Did You Know? On the opening hole, the JAXA Okinawa Space Communication Station dish can be seen beyond the course. The official hole guide also describes a two-tier green and the influence of the sea-facing grain, a small detail that explains why the opening tee shot is more than a simple welcome to the resort.
