Overview: Thana City Country Club is an 18-hole Greg Norman-designed course in Bang Phli, about 25 minutes from central Bangkok and close to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The operator lists a par of 72 and 7,008 yards, with fast greens, strategically placed bunkers, natural lakes and streams shaping the round. The landscaped parkland setting is supported by a full clubhouse, practice facilities and wider lifestyle amenities, so the course works both as an airport-side golf stop and as part of a longer Bangkok stay.
History: Thana City was established in 1993 and completely redeveloped and rebranded in 2018. That makes the current course a combination of an established Bangkok golf identity and a newer club-and-resort presentation. Greg Norman’s design credit remains central to the course’s story, while the redevelopment brought the golf operation into a wider country-club setting with sports, dining and training facilities. The current operator continues to describe the layout as playable throughout the year because of its drainage and maintained surfaces.
Did You Know? The 18th features the course’s recognisable “shark bunker,” a visual nod to Greg Norman’s golfing identity and a memorable closing hazard. It is a small detail, but it neatly connects the modern Thana City presentation with the architect’s name without turning the course into a theme park.
