Overview: Terravista Golf Course divides its 18 holes between two very different landscapes on the Discovery Coast near Trancoso. Dan Blankenship’s opening nine runs through preserved Atlantic rainforest, where vegetation and narrower corridors frame the shots. The closing nine moves onto the coastal cliffs, with exposed holes, ocean wind and views that change the scale of the round. At par 72, the course asks players to adjust from shaded inland precision to open seaside strategy, rather than relying on one fixed style of play.
History: Terravista was developed as part of a larger Trancoso complex and was inaugurated in May 2004 after a two-year construction period. Blankenship designed the course for Gold Tee Golf International, integrating approximately 70 hectares between the forest and the cliffs. Its setting and operating history have made it a regular host for Brazilian events including the Copa Inverno, Teaching Pro Am, Open Santander and Presidente Cup.
Did You Know? The most photographed part of the course is the par-3 14th, where the green sits across a gap between cliffs about 40 metres above the Atlantic. The hole is not simply a scenic stop: the ocean wind can change the flight and landing decision, making the landscape itself part of the shot.
