Overview: Situated in Wommelgem, just east of Antwerp, Belgium, Ternesse Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Paul Rolin. The layout winds through a mature, 70-hectare estate of ancient oak, beech, and pine trees, featuring flat, narrow fairways and several large water hazards. The course represents a classic test of accuracy, requiring precise ball placement off the tee to secure favorable angles into the well-bunkered, small putting surfaces.
History: Opened in 1976, the club was established on the historic grounds of the Ternesse estate to provide a premier private sporting facility for the Antwerp region. Rolin carefully routed the holes to weave through the existing forest canopy, creating an intimate, secluded playing experience that has hosted several national Belgian amateur championships.
Did You Know? The club's spectacular clubhouse is housed within the beautifully restored 16th-century Ternesse Castle. The moated castle provides a majestic and historic backdrop to the opening and closing holes, offering a classic European country club atmosphere.
