Overview: Located in the rolling hills of the Maremma region in southern Tuscany, Italy, Terme Di Saturnia Golf Club is an 18-hole resort course designed by American architect Ronald Fream. The layout winds through an open, undulating landscape bordered by mature olive groves, oak trees, and numerous water hazards. The course is built to strict ecological standards and requires players to navigate deep fairway bunkering and heavily contoured green complexes.
History: Opened in 2008 as the sporting centerpiece of the historic Saturnia thermal spring resort, the course was built to establish a premier luxury destination in Tuscany. Fream utilized the natural agricultural contours to craft a highly strategic, target-style test that contrasts with the traditional Italian countryside.
Did You Know? The course is built immediately adjacent to the ancient thermal springs of Saturnia, and the resort's massive outdoor thermal pools, filled with naturally heated, mineral-rich volcanic water, offer a unique recovery experience for players after their round.
