Overview: Situated in the lush, green interior of Terceira Island in the Azores, Terceira Island Golf Club is a beautifully integrated parkland course set at an altitude of nearly 400 meters. Originally established in the 1950s by American soldiers stationed at Lajes Field, the course has evolved into a high-quality 18-hole championship layout known for its wide fairways and surprisingly few bunkers. The course is a visual masterpiece, winding through thousands of Japanese cedars (cryptomeria), vibrant hydrangeas, and azaleas that bloom across the property.
Did You Know? Although the terrain is inland, the exposure to Atlantic winds and the damp volcanic air means the course plays significantly longer than the yardage suggests. It is widely regarded as the most festive and colorful of the Azorean courses, providing a serene environment where the local flora is just as much a feature as the golf course itself.
