Overview: Tenby is an 18-hole links on the Pembrokeshire coast, close to the medieval walled town and overlooking Carmarthen Bay and Caldey Island. The course combines rolling common land, dunes, blind shots, hog's-back fairways and contoured greens, creating a traditional seaside test with a strong Welsh identity.
History: Golfers were active in Tenby from at least 1875, and Tenby Golf Club was established in 1888 with an original nine-hole course. James Braid was commissioned to extend the course to 18 holes in 1907, and the club later became a founding member of the Welsh Golfing Union. The present layout continues to be shaped by work responding to lengthening play and coastal erosion.
Did You Know? The third hole is named for Dai Rees, the Welsh golfer who held a particular affection for its challenge. Tenby's official history also records David Lloyd George among the prominent figures connected with the club and its Victorian seaside setting.
