Overview: In Greenwich, Connecticut, Tamarack Country Club presents a private course built around Charles H. Banks's template-style ideas. Varied green settings and mature New England vegetation give the layout a settled parkland character.
History: The course opened on July 4, 1929. Brian Silva revised the layout in 2008, and Brian Schneider's Renaissance Golf Design team undertook a further restoration in 2024, using historic aerial photographs and other evidence to guide the work.
Did You Know? Tamarack's opening date was chosen for Independence Day in 1929. The date is a small but memorable detail in the club's history and places the course in the period when Banks's template architecture was spreading through American golf.
