Overview: Taman Dayu Golf Club & Resort is an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in the foothills of Mount Welirang near Pandaan, East Java. The resort’s current description places the course inside a 600-hectare integrated property, where tropical planting, mountain views and the rising ground of the foothills provide the setting for the round. The layout is a mountain course rather than a flat resort loop, with elevation changes and broad natural views shaping club selection and the visual rhythm of the holes. The directory records par 72 and approximately 7,051 yards. Taman Dayu’s identity comes from the relationship between Nicklaus strategy, the volcanic highland landscape and a resort that combines golf with accommodation, practice and leisure facilities.
History: The course opened in 1995 as the central golf element of the Taman Dayu development. The present resort has grown well beyond the original playing surface, but the golf course remains the project’s defining feature and is still described by the operator as a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. The site’s current material marked the property’s thirtieth anniversary in 2025, consistent with the 1995 course date in the directory. Its history is therefore not only about the opening of one Indonesian course, but also about the development of a large mountain destination around that course in East Java.
Did You Know? Taman Dayu’s golf setting is anchored by Mount Welirang, a volcano in the East Java highlands. The operator presents the mountain and tropical atmosphere as part of the course experience, so the views are not an incidental backdrop. They help explain why the course reads as a highland resort layout even when individual holes move through more sheltered planting and developed resort ground.
