Overview: Tam Dao Golf & Resort is a mountain course in Vinh Phuc Province, set in the valley and foothills of the Tam Dao range northwest of Hanoi. IMG is credited with the design. The current gold-tee record is 7,169 yards, and the eighteen-hole course is set at par 72. The routing works with the natural slopes, streams and lakes of the site rather than flattening the land into a uniform resort course. Elevation changes influence club selection, while the wooded mountain setting gives many holes a more enclosed, highland feel than the broad coastal layouts elsewhere in Vietnam.
History: The course opened in 2007 and became part of the development of Tam Dao as a nearby mountain escape from Hanoi. Its long-term identity has remained tied to the relationship between golf and the range itself: the official course material continues to describe lakes, running streams and strategic bunkering as core features. Recent official notices also show the club maintaining and re-rating the course for current play, connecting the original IMG layout with an active modern resort operation.
Did You Know? The official course map lists the opening hole as a 524-yard par 5 from the gold tees. The tee is elevated above the fairway and the hole opens toward the club area, making the first shot a visual introduction to the course's central design idea: highland landforms are part of the strategy, not just scenery behind it.
