Overview: Situated at the foot of the Tahkovuori ski slopes and along the shores of Lake Syväri, Tahko Golf Club's Old Course is a scenic Finnish parkland venue designed by Swedish architect Jan Sederholm. The layout features undulating fairways lined by towering birch and pine trees, with dramatic elevation shifts and multiple water hazards bordering the playing areas. The course is routed directly along the lake margin, demanding precise iron play and strategic positioning to navigate the water-guarded greens.
History: Opened in 2000, the Old Course marked the beginning of Tahko's development into a major year-round sports and leisure destination in Central Finland. Sederholm utilized the diverse lakeside topography to create a course that balances scenic routing with strategic hazard placement. Over the subsequent decades, the venue has built a reputation as one of Finland's premier resort courses.
Did You Know? The course features several holes where the fairways run directly alongside active ski slopes. In late spring, this close proximity allows golfers to play a round under the midnight sun while watching the very last skiers of the season slide down the adjacent slopes.
