Overview: Sutton Coldfield is a heathland course with firm, open ground, heather and mature vegetation around the fairways. The Blue course plays to 6,548 yards and par 72 from the official scorecard, with the natural terrain providing much of the challenge.
History: The club was founded in 1889, moved to its present site in 1890 and had an eighteen-hole course by 1893. Dr Alister MacKenzie later redesigned the layout in 1919, with further reconstruction carried out in the early 1920s.
Did You Know? The club’s own history records that the course has been played for more than 130 years, and that much of the character visible today still comes from MacKenzie’s work on the original heathland setting.
