Overview: Sutton Bay sits on the Missouri River bluffs above Lake Oahe near Agar, South Dakota. Graham Marsh routed the eighteen holes through open prairie landforms and cliff-top views, creating an inland links character where wind, width and changing ground lines influence the best route to each green.
History: The property grew from the Sutton family ranch, which changed significantly after the Oahe Dam formed Lake Oahe in the 1950s. In 2003 the land became Sutton Bay Golf, with the Sutton family, partners and Graham Marsh shaping the course and lodge.
Did You Know? The course occupies land overlooking a reservoir created by the Missouri River's Oahe Dam. The water and bluff system gives Sutton Bay its combination of prairie openness and lakeside elevation.
