Overview: The Prospector Course at Superstition Mountain is a private Jack Nicklaus and Gary Nicklaus design in Gold Canyon, Arizona. The desert course uses broad fairways, strategic greens and expansive views toward the Superstition Mountains, with a par-72 routing that measures 7,185 yards.
History: Play began on Prospector in 1998 as the first of Superstition Mountain’s two Nicklaus courses. Jack Nicklaus worked with his son Gary on the design, and the course later hosted the 2002 Countrywide Tradition and the LPGA Safeway International from 2004 through 2008.
Did You Know? The Prospector course was completed before Lost Gold and finishes with an eighteenth hole that brings the Superstition Mountains and clubhouse into the final view.
