Overview: Sunset Hills Country Club is a private course in Edwardsville, Illinois, on the bluffs above the St. Louis Metro East. Its current 18-hole routing combines mature club roots with later construction, using trees, water and rolling ground for a full par-72 test.
History: The club began in 1922 with a nine-hole course. The golf course expanded to 18 holes in 1960 under Larry Packard, additional land allowed Gary Kern to design new holes in the 1980s, and Keith Foster redesigned older sections in 1997.
Did You Know? Amelia Earhart dined at the club during a 1936 visit to Edwardsville, one of the more unusual pieces of local history in the club’s archive.
