Overview: SunRidge Canyon follows the ridges and shaded washes between Fountain Hills and the McDowell Mountains. Keith Foster used the natural desert canyon terrain to build a par-71 course that descends early and climbs toward the clubhouse, with wind, elevation and stacked-sod bunkers shaping the closing stretch. Native desert vegetation gives the course a distinct Sonoran identity.
History: SunRidge Canyon opened in 1995 as a Keith Foster design. The course was planned around the existing ridges and canyons rather than a flat residential grid, and its later reputation has been tied to the demanding final six holes.
Did You Know? Holes 13 through 18 are called the Wicked Six. The group includes two par fives, two par fours and two par threes, and the longer holes generally climb into the prevailing breeze as the round reaches its finish.
