Overview: Sun Valley Golf Club climbs through the rolling hills of Antipolo, close enough to Metro Manila for a city escape but shaped by a distinctly upland landscape. Current course information lists 18 holes, par 72 and 6,790 yards. Streams, waterfalls, wooded corridors and changes in elevation are central to the experience, with the fairways and greens arranged to preserve the site’s natural contours. The current operator presents the course as open to the public, giving the area a more accessible alternative to Manila’s traditional private clubs.
History: Sun Valley was conceived around the idea that good golf should not be exclusive, and the club’s own project history stresses Antipolo’s proximity to the capital, natural water features and Sierra Madre views. Public sources do not agree on the exact architect and opening year: the operator uses an Arnold Palmer Signature designation, while another course listing names John Hamilton. Those fields are therefore kept unset pending a primary record that resolves the attribution.
Did You Know? The course sits at about 320 metres above sea level, according to the current operator, which helps explain the cooler air and the broad views toward Metro Manila, Laguna de Bay and the Antipolo highlands. The same hillside setting also gives the round its visual rhythm: a tee can reveal a long panorama while the actual landing area remains shaped by a stream, a fall in the ground or a line of trees.
