Overview: Sultan's Run is a public 18-hole course in Jasper, Indiana, designed by Tim Liddy on rolling ground that was once a noted American Saddlebred horse farm. The par-72 layout measures 6,850 yards in the current directory record and moves through woods, valleys, water and open pasture. Its most recognizable playing feature is the finishing hole, where the green is set against a stone wall and waterfall. The course is not built around a single kind of hole: the changing landform, bentgrass greens and varied angles ask the player to adapt as the round progresses.
History: Sultan's Run began operating as a golf course in 1992. In 1996 it underwent an extensive remodeling led by Tim Liddy, who worked with the land's existing character and rebuilt bunkers, greens and several holes. The owners continued investing in the course and surrounding facilities from 2009 onward. The property hosted the Senior LPGA Championship in 2023, adding a recent professional event to its longer history as a southern Indiana golf destination.
Did You Know? The course's horse heritage is written into its routing: holes one through 17 are named for Supreme Sultan's world-champion foals, while the 18th is named for Supreme Sultan himself. The waterfall behind that final green is therefore more than scenery; it is the course's closing tribute to the horse that gave the property its name.
