Overview: StoneRidge Golf Club in Stillwater is a links-style public course shaped by Bobby Weed Golf Design. Native fescue, open fairways, and broad undulating green complexes give the course a different visual language from the tree-lined parkland layouts common in the Twin Cities. The championship routing stretches to 7,013 yards and uses changing wind, approach angles, and the contrast between short grass and rough to create its main decisions. Its location feels removed from the metro area even though it sits close to St Paul and Minneapolis.
History: Construction on the Bobby Weed layout began in 1999, and the course opened for play on July 4, 2000. From the start it was planned as a public and semi-private course that could challenge skilled players while remaining approachable from forward tees. StoneRidge quickly became part of the Twin Cities public-golf conversation and has continued to be recognized for its links character and playing conditions.
Did You Know? StoneRidge's native fescue is not simply a visual border. It helps define the course's links-style identity and changes the available recovery options when a shot leaves the fairway. The result is a course that asks golfers to choose lines carefully before they ever reach the large, rolling greens.
