Overview: Stone Eagle is a private desert course in Palm Desert, set into the foothills with wide views across the Coachella Valley. Tom Doak’s routing uses the mountain edge, native desert and natural rock to create a course that feels embedded in the landscape rather than surrounded by housing.
History: The course opened in November 2005 as a Tom Doak design. The club has continued to refine the property with additional short-game and teeing-ground work while preserving the desert setting that defined the original course.
Did You Know? The official scorecard lists the Eagle tees at 6,659 yards and par 71. That relatively compact number is deceptive in the mountain setting, where elevation, wind and uneven lies can change the effective distance of a hole.
