Overview: Situated on the shores of the Trondheimsfjord in central Norway, Stiklestad Golfklubb is an 18-hole coastal parkland course designed by British architect Jeremy Turner. The layout features rolling fairways that wind through mature forests of pine and birch, leading to large, undulating greens. With multiple holes routed directly along the water's edge, players must navigate the coastal winds and strategically placed water hazards to score well.
History: Established in 1993 and expanded to its full 18-hole championship layout in 2008 under Turner's direction, the course lies on historic ground where the Battle of Stiklestad took place in 1030. The routing was carefully planned to preserve the natural woodlands and archaeological heritage sites of the estate, immediately establishing the club as a key center for Norwegian golf.
Did You Know? The course is located in one of Norway's most historic regions, close to where King Olav Haraldsson fell in battle. This event marked a major turning point in the Christianization of Norway, and players can visit the historic battle memorials located just feet from the fairways.
