Overview: Located on a historic estate overlooking the Horsens Fjord in Denmark, the Brakør/Elbæk loop at Stensballegaard Golf is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Rick Baril. The layout features rolling fairways framed by mature forests, deep sand hazards, and large green complexes. Exposed to fjord winds, the course demands strategic tee shots and precise approach play to navigate the undulating terrain.
History: Opened in 2009, the course was built on the grounds of the historic Stensballegaard manor house, which has records dating back to 1397. Baril sculpted the agricultural hillsides to create a modern tournament layout while preserving the mature woodlands and archaeological heritage sites of the estate.
Did You Know? The club is committed to environmental preservation, seeding the entire course with drought-resistant fescue grasses that require minimal water and chemicals, and preserving protected ancient oak trees directly bordering the fairways.
