Overview: Bintang Course is one of the two 18-hole routings at Starhill Golf & Country Club near Johor Bahru. The current course page lists par 72 and 6,834 yards, with Zoysia Matrella fairways and Tifdwarf greens. Water is central to the design: the course occupies riverine and swamp areas and adds man-made ponds to the natural setting. The fairways offer room in places, but the mix of water, doglegs, trees and green contours makes the best line more important than a simple drive for distance.
History: Starhill developed as a 36-hole golf resort, with current course references dating the facility to 1993. Bintang is kept here as a separate course identity from the companion Bukit routing, which is defined more by hills and elevation changes. The reviewed material does not verify a separate Bintang opening date or architect, so the facility date is used cautiously and the architect field remains blank. The resort continues to publish course information and reservations.
Did You Know? The 16th hole has a distinctive star-shaped island green, a visual feature that gives Bintang its name a literal presence on the scorecard. The 17th then turns into a near right-angle dogleg, with tall trees forming the turning-point buffer. Together the two holes create a sharp change of shape late in the round: first a precise target over water, then a tee shot where the corner and angle matter as much as raw length.
