Overview: St James Bay gives Carrabelle an 18-hole public layout on Florida's Forgotten Coast. Robert Walker designed the par-72 layout to fit 90 acres of wetlands, marsh and pine, with rolling fairways, bunkers and water features. The black tees reach 7,002 yards, but five tee sets make the course playable at different lengths.
History: The official course material presents St James Bay as a resort and public golf property built around an Audubon Signature Sanctuary approach. The exact opening year is not stated consistently enough to record, while the club's 2004 Audubon certification is a documented milestone in the course's environmental history.
Did You Know? St James Bay is one of the few Florida Panhandle courses carrying Audubon Signature Sanctuary recognition. The course's environmental identity is visible in the routing itself, where wetlands and pine habitat are treated as part of the playing landscape rather than simply cleared away.
