Overview: St George’s Hill Blue/Green is an exact 18-hole combination of two nines at the private heathland club in Weybridge, Surrey. The course is built over sandy ground with heather, pine and mature woodland, giving the holes a firm, natural playing character. Harry Colt created the original course, while the Green nine was upgraded in the late twentieth century by Peter Preston. Because the par and tee yardage depend on the club’s current combination and published setup, those fields are left blank rather than copied from the Red/Green routing.
History: St George’s Hill’s original course was ready in 1913 and is part of Harry Colt’s influential heathland work. The club now has three named nine-hole loops, Red, Blue and Green, which can be combined in different ways. The Green nine’s later improvement gives the stored Blue/Green routing a layered history: Colt’s original design language remains the foundation, while Preston’s work forms part of the current presentation. The directory name is preserved so the profile does not collapse three loops into one generic course.
Did You Know? The club’s three nines make the order of a round meaningful. Blue/Green is not interchangeable with Red/Green, even though both use the Green nine, because the opening nine changes the rhythm and the strategic context of the finish. The sandy heathland, heather and pine framing remain constant, but the sequence of holes changes the way the course reveals itself.
