Overview: Saint Andrew’s Golf Club is a private Jack Nicklaus Signature course in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. The current par-71 layout measures about 6,688 yards and combines the club’s long American history with a modern Nicklaus routing. Some of the original golf elements remain in play, while the course now reads as a carefully developed championship layout.
History: The club was established on November 14, 1888, by John Reid and is recognized by the club as the oldest continuously existing golf club in the United States. The current Jack Nicklaus Signature Course opened on May 29, 1985, so the club’s founding date and the present course date should be kept separate.
Did You Know? Saint Andrew’s hosted a centennial celebration in 1988 that brought together figures such as Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Kathy Whitworth, Nancy Lopez, and Jack Nicklaus. The event marked 100 years of American golf history at the club.
