Overview: Sport and Golf Resort Gut Wissmannshof's 18-hole Championship Course sits on a large rural property near Staufenberg, using open meadowland, wooded edges, water features, bunkers, and strongly contoured greens to create a modern parkland test. The course is arranged as two nine-hole loops within a planned 27-hole development, so each hole has a clear individual setting while the overall round keeps moving through different scales of landscape. Broad landing zones provide room for an assertive drive, but the best approach is usually created by position rather than length alone. At par 72, the course blends resort accessibility with the visual and strategic language of a championship layout.
History: The estate dates from 1830 and golf was played on the property before the current course was redeveloped. After a change of ownership around 2010, the resort commissioned Rengstorf Golf Design for a more modern 18-hole layout. The new course was opened in 2016, with the wider project planned as a 27-hole championship facility. The official course page now presents the first 18 holes as the Championship Course, while additional nine-hole work remains part of the site's longer development story.
Did You Know? The course is built around two completed nine-hole loops within the planned 27-hole concept. On the blue loop, the first hole is a par 5 and the ninth offers a high viewpoint, while ponds on the property form habitat for frogs as well as hazards in play.
