Overview: SouthShore Country Club is a private Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Lake Las Vegas, rising from the shoreline into the surrounding desert ridges and canyons. The current profile lists 6,925 yards and par 71. The routing uses the sharp topography of the lake community, with holes climbing to ridge tops before falling away toward rugged desert ground and water. Wide corridors do not remove the strategic demand: elevation, forced carries and changing angles make club selection important throughout the round.
History: The SouthShore community and its Jack Nicklaus golf club began taking shape in 1993, as the first private community developed at Lake Las Vegas. Nicklaus Design records the course as open in 1996 and identifies it as the first private Jack Nicklaus Signature course in Nevada. Its history is closely linked to the man-made lake and the residential resort development, but the course's strongest architectural feature remains the transition from shoreline to ridge and canyon.
Did You Know? SouthShore's sister course, Reflection Bay, followed in 1998. Together they form a rare pair of Jack Nicklaus Signature layouts in one Lake Las Vegas setting, with SouthShore as the private 1996 course and Reflection Bay as the later resort course.
