South Forbes Golf Club

Overview: South Forbes Golf Club is an IMG-designed 18-hole course in Silang, Cavite, built into the planned South Forbes Golf City. The current blue-tee card lists par 67 and 4,886 yards, making it shorter on paper than the area’s championship-length layouts. Its playing character is shaped by the demand for accurate shots: rolling ground, water, a rainforest setting and tighter fairways create pressure even when the scorecard does not advertise a long course. The result is a compact, position-focused round close to the main Manila golf corridor.

History: South Forbes was developed as the first IMG-branded golf property in the Philippines, part of a broader residential and leisure project south of Manila. A 2006 report records the course’s place in that development story, while the current club page confirms the continuing IMG design identity and all-weather concept. Because the available sources date the project rather than a definite opening of the present routing, the course profile leaves the opening year unset.
