Overview: Located on the island of Gotland, Sweden, Slite Golfklubb is a highly scenic 18-hole coastal woodland course. Winding through dense pine forests directly adjacent to the Baltic Sea, the layout features tight, tree-lined fairways, subtle elevation changes, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course demands precise ball placement to navigate the narrow forest corridors and the deep coastal sands.
History: Founded in the late 1980s, the course was built to bring high-quality competitive golf to the remote island. The layout was carefully integrated into the natural sand dunes, minimizing earth movement to preserve the historic coastal ecosystem and providing a highly unique, firm-and-fast playing experience.
Did You Know? The course is built on the historic, massive limestone bedrock that defines the island of Gotland. Several holes feature massive, exposed limestone outcroppings directly adjacent to the fairways, providing a highly rugged, dramatic architectural backdrop.
