Overview: Located in Kvistgård, north of Copenhagen, Simon's Golf Club features the 18-hole Sløjfe A/B combination designed by the renowned British architect Martin Hawtree. The layout is set on a gently rolling landscape featuring wide fairways, mature tree borders, and strategic water hazards. Hawtree implemented a classic British strategic design, with deep bunkers and contoured green complexes that reward accurate shot-making and disciplined course management.
History: Opened in 1993, the club was founded by Danish entrepreneur Johan Schrøder to introduce a top-tier, international-standard tournament venue to Denmark. Hawtree utilized the natural farmland contours and constructed a sophisticated sand-based drainage system. Simon's Golf Club went on to host the 2003 Nordic Open, which was the first official European Tour event held in Denmark.
Did You Know? Simon's was one of the very first courses in Scandinavia to feature a comprehensive USGA-specification sand-based foundation. This advanced engineering allows the fairways and greens to remain open and fully playable on summer greens year-round, except during periods of hard frost.
