Siam Country Club Waterside

Overview: Siam Country Club Waterside is an 18-hole, par-72 IMG design in the Pattaya golf cluster, with the landscape shaped around lakes, gentle slopes and broad fairways rather than severe elevation changes. The current IMG profile gives 6,608 yards, while older published material lists a longer championship configuration. The course is more approachable than some of the club’s tougher layouts, but water is a constant strategic presence: players need to choose when to challenge a lake, when to accept a wider line and how much room to leave for the approach. The result is a polished resort round whose visual calm disguises plenty of decision-making.

History: Waterside opened in 2014 as part of the expansion of Siam Country Club beyond its original Old Course. IMG developed the routing to work with the existing terrain and to give the Pattaya complex a distinct waterside identity. It has since been used for high-level events, including the 2022 Asia Pacific Amateur Championship and the 2022 Trust Golf Mixed Cup. The different yardages found in current and older references reflect alternate tee configurations rather than a different directory course.

Did You Know? The 17th is the course’s signature visual moment: the hole wraps around a lake, making the relationship between tee shot, water and approach unusually clear. The 4th also uses water to frame the hole, so the course establishes its central idea early and returns to it late. On a repeat visit, changing tees can alter whether those holes feel like a carry, a positioning exercise or a controlled risk-reward play.
